David Keyes was born in San Jose and raised in Sutter, a small farming community north of Sacramento that bears similarities to many of the farming communities here in the Central Valley. Mr. Keyes is the youngest of three, and as a teenager worked in almond, walnut, peach, prune, and rice harvesting. He has lived in Fresno County since 1989.
Mr. Keyes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from National University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California, Florida, and Washington D.C., Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
His financial and business background includes complex receivables management, systems reviews, process management, internal control guidelines, and improving processes through automation - ranging from public and private sectors, as well as international accounting.
He currently owns and operates two businesses: Keyes & Kirkorian (an asset management company) and a local CPA firm, which is a member of the Fresno and Clovis Chambers of Commerce.
In his personal life, Mr. Keyes enjoys spending time with his kids and grandkids, as well as visits to his family’s farms in Live Oak and Hanford. He also has a passion for traveling, reading, playing the piano, anything aviation related—including using his private pilot’s license—and exploring the beautiful outdoors of Fresno County on his motorcycle.
